RCHP

The Refugee Communities History Project (RCHP) , also known as the Oral History Project, was launched to record the untold stories of refugees living in London, and highlight the way that they contribute to the city. It sought to do this by recording life story testimonies of individuals and also by collecting visual materials to complement these recordings. The project was run by the Evelyn Oldfield Unit (EOU), a refugee led, charitable organisation, in partnership with the Museum of London (MoL), London Metropolitan University (London Met) and 15 Refugee Community Organisations (RCOs). It started in July 2004 and was completed in March 2007. Funding of £741,950 was secured from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Trust for London. Ethiopian Community in Britain was one of  the fifteen refugee community groups involved in the project.
