DID YOU KNOW THAT ECB HAS BEEN RUNNING THE INDEPENDENT LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT & GUIDANCE SINCE 2005?
The Ethiopian Community in Britain is undertaking a project that enables care leavers to run an independent life to achieve their potential. The project attempts to enable the transfer from “care environment” to an “independent life” be smooth to the young beneficiaries in terms of both psychological and material preparedness.
The service is provided in a user friendly and culturally sensitive approach to young care leavers from Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa (Eritrea, Djibouti, Sudan and Somalia). The project gives practical and essential supports to deal with the following issues:
Ø Setting up a Home
Ø Managing Their Finances
Ø Establishing a Network of Support
Ø Protecting Themselves from any Anti Social Behaviour
Ø Achieving Their Potential
Accessing the Service:
· We are open to callers without appointment for initial advice.
· Our drop-in services are from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday.
